German Pancake

Do you like rectangular food?

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 1 cup (120 g) flour
  • salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 5 tablespoons (70 g) butter
  • Fresh lemons or lemon juice

Procedure

  1. Place the butter in an 9”x13” glass baking dish. Place inside the oven as it preheats to 425 °F.
  2. Beat the eggs, first. Mix in milk, vanilla and salt. Slowly add flour until smooth.
  3. Once the oven is preheated, pour batter into baking dish, over the melted butter.
  4. Bake for 22 minutes or until edges are golden brown and puffy.
  5. Serve with powdered sugar and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Notes

  • May instead serve with powdered sugar and syrup.
